Every year there are a few players who for one reason or another find themselves ineligible for school, and if it happens during the right window, they can declare for the NFL Supplemental Draft. It's not a true draft in the traditional sense, it's more of an auction.
Quickly, the draft allows teams to bid with a pick, in any of the traditional 7 rounds. For example if a team bids their 4th round pick, and no other team bids higher, that team gets the player, and forfeits that pick the following year.
This year per Gregg Rosenthal @greggrosenthal on Twitter, 8 players have found themselves in a position where they were not eligible to return to their schools in the Fall so they find themselves waiting for July 12th to come and see if their football careers continue.
The 8 players in this year's draft are pretty unremarkable.

Well the cry went out, give the people what they wanted, and what people wanted in Division I college football was a playoff. And yesterday the commissioners from every BCS conference announced they had reached concensus on a 4 team playoff that will begin for the 2014-2015 season.
The current system, the BCS has been in place since 1998 and been a constant source of debate and controversy, and for most college football fans a source of frustration. While all details have not been released in terms of where the BCS will be starting in 2014, disgruntled fans can be assured BCS monster that has caused them so much stress will no longer exist.

Preseason Top 25
1. Alabama-Even with their losses, they are still so talented on both sides of the football.
2. USC-Probably a national title contender last year if not for their sanctions. Should be in the thick of it all year long.
3. LSU-Another team that took significant losses in terms of personnel but looks ready to reload.
4. Oklahoma-There are questions on both sides of the football, but you can’t deny the passing attack promises to be explosive.
5. Oregon-This ranking could change greatly if the Ducks struggle to find someone to step in for Darron Thomas at quarterback.

Let's roll through the Bowls, all 35 of them, in chronological order (maybe). I'm going to lay out who's playing in each one and then make a prediction on who'll win. Yet again I'll point out if I put money on my own predictions my kids would starve. I heartily recommend that you don't base anything financial on my predictions!
New Mexico Bowl
Who: BYU vs. UTEP
Winner: BYU
uDrove Humanitarian Bowl
Who: Northern Illinois vs. Fresno State
Winner: Fresno State

And so here we are at the tail end of the season and everything out there is pretty much still to be decided. At least the really big prize anyway. With 2 weeks to go there's still 4 unbeaten teams in contention for the National Championship Game and as of right now, it could be any 2 from 4 (yes really!). So who's got what to come and how much have they got to do to reach College Football Nirvana? Here's the grid:
1. Oregon
2. Auburn
3. TCU

My fellow college football fans, I am speaking to you today, to help you understand where we are as a nation. A College Football Nation. We have seen some troubling waters, but we have forged ahead and I feel like we have new hope, and we are energized as we move into a new stage of our season.

Now please understand, I have ZERO interest in pop culture, fashion, or anything else not football related on Twitter (well almost, but read on). So my list of the 5 or so Tweeps you must follow are very much football-centric.
This data was collected by following and unfollowing NFL players, coaches, and all those connected with the sports. Some guys Tweet a lot, but I feel like I am losing IQ points when I try and read them, so they get the unfollow. Other guys use their Twitters strictly as marketing devices, and have a bot posting their Tweets. Unfollow. Other guys just don't Tweet. Unfollow. These are the guys I look for in my News Feed every day, because they never fail to impress, amuse or just entertain.

My new Heisman Top 5 starts to squarely pair up with the top teams in the country. Sadly, there are no dark horses this year like last season. As much as I'd love to drop some sleeper names in my list, this just isn't the year for it.
This top 5 is pretty chalk by my Heisman predictions, and I'm ok with it, so I hope you are too. On some level you have to go with the Heisman unwritten rule of best player on the best team. The real debate at this point is more about who the best team is I suppose.
5. Justin Blackmon WR Oklahoma State - I suppose if any guy qualifies as a sleeper it's Blackmon. He is such a good player, he just makes all the best CBs look silly week after week.

10. There is no reason to panic in Norman - Yes, the Oklahoma Sooners probably should have beaten the Texas A&M Aggies. And their hopes for a Big 12 Title and BCS Bowl bid are pretty much gone. But it's ok. First, no Sooner fans went into this season with National Title aspirations, so let's not be shocked here that they aren't quite ready. And look to the future. This team is playing 13 Freshman on their two deep, and 13 more Sophomores. So between 48 guys on their 2 deep, 26 are Freshman or Sophomores. The future is bright.

First things first, let's take a look at who's still in the running for this thing. For this I'm going all the way down to Numer 8. That gives us all the unbeaten teams plus Alabama who are the best of the one loss teams and the one with the schedule that might get them back into contention yet. Here's how it's played out so far and who's left to come for each of 'em.
1. Auburn
2. Oregon
3. Boise State
4. TCU
