NCAA Football Week 1 Power Poll

1 week of the college football season is in the books, and that means its time to shake up the Top 25, right?  I think doing polls so early is silly, especially a preseason poll, but I must bow to the masses and give you my input as to who the 25 best teams in the country are.

Curt's Big 32 for the 2013 NFL Draft-UPDATED

Please keep in mind, this is my list of who I like.  This has nothing to do with predicting where they will be drafted.   If I were an NFL GM, if all positions were on the board, this would be my top 32 guys. You couldn't really go wrong with any of these guys, but don't be shocked that my order doesn't fall in line with what most believe.

Obviously I reserve the right to make changes to this as the season goes on, and it is of course a fluid list.

Scouting Snapshots-Taylor Lewan

These are my preseason scouting reports.  They are meant to just lay a foundation for where these players are going into the 2012 College Football season.  Obviously when I do final scouting reports on these players after the season, things will change.  No guarantees they will change for the better, and I do my best to be objective and pragmatic.  You all may take that as being negative, but if I like a guy I say so, and if I don't, you'll hear that too.

BCS National Championship Prediction

With the recent announcement that starting in 2014 there would be a huge change in the format of the BCS level of college football with a 4 team playoff, articles like this are going to be dinosaurs.  Instead I’ll have to turn my attention to predicting my “final 4” so to speak, assuming I can keep straight which conference has rights to which bowl and which bowl is hosting a semifinal game and blah blah blah, let’s just move on.

This year thankfully for me, it is business as usual, so that means the most beloved yet maligned BCS championship is a hot debate.  Let me say this about this year’s crop of teams.  There are at least 10 teams that can make it to the title game.  Having said that, while I do think the list of potential candidates to play in the game is long, I really only see a handful of those teams that have the talent to win it.  Let’s break them down, shall we?

LSU Cornerback Tyrann Mathieu Dismissed From Team

Today in a news conference, LSU Tigers head coach Les Miles announced that Tyrann Mathieu, aka "The Honey Badger" aka, the most overrated player in college football has been dismissed from the team for multiple failed drug tests.  What does this mean for Mathieu?  What does it mean for LSU?

First for LSU.   I seriously doubt there's any real drop off in performance on the Tiger defense.  Between Jalen Collins, Tharold Simon, and David Jenkins, the LSU secondary is going to be just stacked.  Going into the season, I wasn't convinced Mathieu would truly be a starter except in name only.  Both Simon and Collins have more potential as corners than Mathieu, and the defense really shouldn't skip a beat.
