POSITIVES

Samardzija went from just another wide out to elite wide out in one season. Thank Charlie Weis for that. Weis saw those physical tools, great size, amazing hands, solid speed, and a knack for making big plays. Jeff really thrived in that new Notre Dame offense, where his athletic advantage could be utilized.

NEGATIVES

Like many Notre Dame prospects, the repeat factor has to be there. Can Samardzija do it again this year, especially after losing Maurice Stovall? Also, Samardzija lacks elite timed speed, and does need to work on his route running and making fewer body catches. The usual stuff...

FINAL WORD

In a wide out class that promises to be very deep, Samardzija will need to step his game up big-time, and continue to grow and develop. He's an amazing athlete (pro baseball prospect as well), and under the tutoring of Weis, could really become an elite NFL prospect.
