Meacham is a very good WR prospect. He's got great size and speed, plays very strong and has great hands, even in traffic. As a big time high school prospect great things were expected of Meacham, and as a junior he delivered, showing the game breaking ability that he was hyped as having. He’s a very good red zone target, with sure hands and great body control. Nice change of direction and quickness makes him dangerous after the catch.
NEGATIVES
Up until this season Meacham underachieved, showing poor concentration and effort at times. This will be scrutinized as he heads to the NFL. Has to show consistent effort and continue to work hard to develop as a player. Meacham doesn't have great timed speed as opposed to field speed, and that will hurt him in some team's eyes. He's only had one great season and chose to jump to the NFL. Talent aside, he may not be ready to make an impact against NFL competition.
FINAL WORD
Probably one of the most balanced packages at WR in the draft. Meacham showed this year he can do a little of everything. He's strong enough to beat the jam and quick enough to get separation. He’s also strong enough to go over the middle and shifty enough to get yards after the catch. The thing that I always was most impressed with is what Meacham does after the catch. He's the guy who takes an 8-yard curl, turns up field, and makes a 30 yard play out of it. Very special player once the ball is in his hands, he just has to make sure he's always in a position to match the catch.
