Hicks has been an incredibly productive player over the last couple of years. He's got great size and uses it, along with good straight line speed, to be not only a highly productive deep threat, but an impressive red zone target. At times, Hicks looks like the best wide out in the nation, being completely impossible to defend for long stretches in games. He runs good routes, and always finds a way to get open and make the catch.
NEGATIVES
Some of his stats are, of course, a product of the run and shoot system that will always inflate stats. Also, there have been games where Hicks just seems to be overlooked, and it's hard to say if it's simply because of the flow of the game, or that he just doesn't put in the effort every game, to make himself the playmaker week after week.
FINAL WORD
Hicks is a very interesting prospect - he's got great measureables, the stats to support his skills, but watching him play, he doesn't give that feeling that he's in that top-teir of players, like Calvin Johnson, Dewayne Jarrett, Sydney Rice, etc. He's got a chance this year, on a very good Red Raiders club, to put up huge numbers and get his name out there on the college football map.
