Bowe has prototypical size, and disproportionately long arms. Probably more athlete than football player at this point, he has all the measurables you look for. He has an amazing vertical, huge hands and great body control when he's in the air. One thing that stood out to me, on Bowe all season was his toughness. He was not afraid to get his nose dirty, whether it's taking a catch in traffic, and taking a big hit, or even delivering a big hit, as a run blocker.
NEGATIVES
Like a lot of big body wide outs, he isn't the fastest kid, and has trouble getting separation from cornerbacks. Like I said before, he's more athlete than football player and it shows in his route running, and concentration, both of which suffer at times. A ton of upside, but no doubt, he's got a lot to learn about the technical fine points of playing wide receiver.
FINAL WORD
Bowe really developed as a playmaker in 2006, especially in the red zone. Bowe probably benefited as much by the development of JaMarcus Russell as anyone. He's got to do a lot of things better, but from a measurables standpoint, and a potential standpoint, he's right up there, with any wide out in this draft. Once he gets better in his route running, and is able to catch the ball with his hands more, he'll be far more productive. This kid is all about the upside, and that, paired with some crazy measurables, should lock him into a first round pick.
