POSITIVES

Landry has been a "known" commodity at safety, for the past 3 years. In terms of a true coverage free safety, Landry is the best in the country. He's probably more corner playing safety, than strictly safety, but in today's NFL, having an extra coverage player on the field, is always a plus. One thing that really stands out, for Landry, is his recognition and ball skills. When the ball is in the air, Landry is able to pick it up quickly, break on the ball with great speed, and when he gets to the play, make the pick, or break up the pass. Smart player with a ton of experience, and a leader on the field.

NEGATIVES

Landry doesn't have the size, to be a great run stopper, and does get overpowered when defending the run. Not a bad tackler, but Landry has to learn to play with better discipline, choosing to make a smart play, over the big hit more often, so plays aren't missed. Doesn't have elite timed speed, and could stand to put on some weight.

FINAL WORD

Doesn't it seem like Landry has been in college for ten years? Landry has been discussed as the next great NFL safety since he was a freshman, and no doubt he'll be a great safety in the NFL. I think he could end up playing more CB than safety, because his build is a little slight, and he doesn't excel in stopping the run game. Great coverage player, and will make a great ball hawking center field type player. Do I think he's the best all around safety in the draft? Nope, but he's the most publicized, and barring a total off-season meltdown, will be the first safety off the board.
