POSITIVES

Brady Quinn really came into his own during his first season under Charlie Weis. Physically, Quinn has the ideal NFL QB body - he's big, tall and strong, but with quick feet and surprising speed. Watching Quinn play, his confidence and command of the offense are impressive. There are no throws that Quinn can't make, and he's excellent in reading coverages, working through his progressions, and putting the ball on the money. With short and intermediate routes, his velocity is very good, while showing nice touch on his deep passes. Quinn is a student of the game, and you can see that just by the quantum leap he made last year. By returning for his senior season, and second under Weis, he has huge upside with room to grow and develop as a player.

NEGATIVES

2005 was a breakout year for Quinn, but it's only one year. Many, including his few critics, wonder whether Quinn will deliver more of the same magic in 2006 or simply regress. Odds are that he'll continue to develop under Weis, and despite being the Heisman favorite, some aspects of his game need to improve - accuracy on his deep throws and refining his footwork to name two. Beyond that, it's hard to say a whole lot bad about Quinn, after watching him develop into one of the 3 best QBs in college football last year, and the clear cut best this year.

FINAL WORD

Watch out for Quinn this year. He's the top name on ever Heisman watch list, and even though he did lose a couple of his favorite targets, you know Notre Dame will have the weapons in place for him, and Weis will put him in a position to make plays. With a repeat of last season, Quinn's a lock to be the #1 overall pick in the 2007 NFL draft. He's got everything you want in a franchise QB, he just has to show everyone he can do it 2 years in a row.
