POSITIVES

If you are building a QB in a lab, he might look a lot like Keller. He's got great size and an absolute rocket for an arm. Very quick release and solid mechanics. He can make every throw, whether it's a 15 yard out, or a 50 yard bomb. One thing that really stands out when you watch Keller play is the passion he plays with, and the confidence he commands the offense with. He can't be shook, and seems to be able to make decisions very quickly, and get the football where it needs to go.

NEGATIVES

Keller missed half of last season with a thumb injury, so it's something to monitor for the upcoming season. Also, although I love Keller's confidence, and the way he carries himself on the field, there are times, when it's too much. He's got supreme confidence in his skills, and for good reason, but in the NFL, some of the throws he makes, will be INTs, because he does force the ball at times. He's got to learn at times to play in control, and trust in his teammates, and not try to force things, and do too much. Also, Keller is a little slow afoot, and doesn't throw very well on the run.

FINAL WORD

There's no reason Keller can't be the top Quarterback in the nation this year, and a legit Heisman candidate. He's got all the physical tools you look for in a franchise quarterback, and in the time he was a starter, showed a ton of potential. This year, that team is all his, and with the weapons he has, there's no reason he doesn't put up scary big numbers. If he can reign in the attitude a little, and play with a little more control, and confidence in someone besides himself, he should really grow as a quarterback.
