Poz is a football cliché. He's got good size, moves well in space, and has good burst. He's a reliable tackler, does well in coverage, and blitzes well. Yep, we've got it all. He's got an ideal work ethic, a motor that never quits, very strong, smart, intangibles, team leader; you are starting to get the picture, right?
NEGATIVES
For all those things I listed above that Poz does well, he isn't exceptional at anything. He doesn't have exceptional size or speed and he isn’t an elite coverage player or pass rusher. He just does a little of everything, but doesn't excel at anything – Jack of all trades, master of none. He also has some injury concerns after tearing two knee ligaments that didn't look healed for most of last season.
FINAL WORD
I can't get a feel for Posluszny. I know he's a great football player, but is he going to be a great NFL football player? I'm not sure. He seems like a very hard worker and, in the right system, probably should be a very productive player for a long time. I'm just not sure if he is a difference maker on defense. He didn't look like himself this year, and I suppose most of that can be attributed to recovery from the knee injury. He could end up slipping some, and therefore being a real steal.
