POSITIVES

Beekman is built like a guard. He's got a wide base, low center of gravity, and is thick as a brick. Beekman is a very strong player, who uses his strength and his technique to rarely lose at the point of attack. A stout run blocker, Beekman finishes his blocks and is good at getting his hands on defensive players at the second level. Beekman is a smart player and works very hard to get better, still showing room for improvement.

NEGATIVES

He's not a very athletic guard, struggles with pulling, stepping out, and picking up blitzers. Gets overpowered by big DT's, and it looks to be a problem with leverage, but that's minimal. He's more apt to lose out to someone quicker than him, than someone bigger than him.

FINAL WORD

I have to say, I expected big things from Beekman this year, and for the most part, he didn't disappoint. He's very strong and plays with a nasty attitude, which seems to be a standard for BC O-linemen. Probably the 2nd or 3rd best guard in the draft, and to me, with his power and work ethic, looks to be a ten year starter in the NFL. He really doesn't have any weaknesses in his game, except he's pretty slow afoot, but if he's not asked to pull much, it shouldn't matter.
