Siler has a strong build, with thick legs and a strong base. Siler looks like a MLB. He plays like one too. Explosive and powerful, especially from tackle to tackle, he's one of the best finishers in the country. The old cliché' "hits like a truck" certainly applies to Siler, and it's paired up with exceptional quickness, great instincts for the game, and a high football acumen. An excellent blitzer, he can use both his quickness, and power, to get into the backfield.
NEGATIVES
He isn't the fastest guy, and does let plays get away from him, especially those going wide. Not a great coverage player, and does look a little stiff dropping and chasing tight ends and running backs. In a loaded LB group, Siler sort of gets caught up in the mix, because he's not the elite football player Pat Willis is, and should he declare, will need a very strong off-season to vie for a first round pick.
FINAL WORD
Siler has a tattoo on his arm that says, "Good isn't good when greatness is expected." This encapsulates the kind of football player Siler is. He's gotten better every year, since he lead the team in tackles as a true freshman, and you can just tell, watching him develop this year, he's going to have a big future in the NFL. He can play inside, in either 3-4 or 4-3, because he's strong enough to engage linemen and quick enough to blitz. In my opinion, I think he's a far superior prospect to former Florida linebacker, Channing Crowder, and that is really saying something.
