POSITIVES

Very strong runner, who hits the hole hard, and with great leverage. Leonard has a strong compact build and runs low, and with that forward lean you love to see. Smart player, with good instincts, and nice vision to find the hole, and get through it. Very capable of breaking arm tackles, and a great nose for the end zone. Soft hands for a big man, and shows great skills as a wide out, coming out of the backfield. Also, as being a fullback would indicated, he's a solid run blocker, and pass protector.

NEGATIVES

Leonard doesn't have that 2nd gear, and many times is able to get to that second level, only to be run down by faster players. Has that tweener sort of feel to him, as more of an Alstott type, than a Jerome Bettis type. Not a shifty back, and won't make people miss in the open field. More of a hard worker, than elite athlete, and will be lacking some in those dreaded measureables.

FINAL WORD

Leonard is your typical hard-nosed, lunch pail-type player. Great runner, and should be able to either play that hybrid FB role in the NFL, or as a single back. Probably not fast enough, or explosive enough to be a primary ballcarrier, but ever team can use a player like Leonard on their team. He runs hard, catches the ball well, and is a solid blocker.
