Very strong, run stuffing defensive tackle. Got overshadowed last year, by Elivs Dumervil and Montravious Stanley, but make no mistake, this guy is a fireplug in the middle, and one of the best run stoppers in the country. His frame lends itself to moving to a NT position in a 3-4, in the NFL, because he is very adept as absorbing the double team, and strong enough to fight through it. A very good tackler, with surprising quickness for a player his size.
NEGATIVES
Okoye's game is run support, and so his prime weakness is as an interior pass rusher. Not an elite athlete, and doesn't have great measureables. Really only had one good season, and will need to really build on it, with key losses on the dline, see if he can step his game up big-time, and be a leader on the defensive line.
FINAL WORD
Okoye has the potential to move way up draft boards this year. He's not a real flashy athlete, and not a big name, but he's a great run stopper, and his ability to play the nose will be big. He's got a non-stop motor, and plays very strong, with excellent leverage, and has the football accumen that some measureables defeiciencies, can overcome.
