One of the best defensice linemen in the country. Comact, muscular frame, with little body fat. His first step is explosivie, and this allows him to beat the constant double teams, and get penetration in the backfield. Very quick in short space allows him to make plays down the line on running backs, but his forte' is straight line penetration, and punishing whoever gets in his way.
NEGATIVES
Some will consider Mebane a tweener. He's not big enough to be that fireplug many teams want, to protect their linebackers, and he's probably too big to play a 3-4 DE. Big whoop. He has the potential to be this year's Brodrick Bunkley, and although his game needs some work, like in run support, his upside is huge.
FINAL WORD
Upside, upside, upside. That's what Mebane is all about. He's got to be praying that Mika Kane is ready to step up, on the inside, and keep some of the every down double teams off of him. One on one, he's almost unstoppable, especially on the interior pass rush. He's a great tackler and relentless, and most of all, a hard worker, who realizes he's got lots of room to get better, and wants to get better.
