POSITIVES

Moss is a scary talent! He may have the quickest first step of any player in this draft, either at DE or LB. His ability to get around the end, on even the best OT's in the country, is what makes his draft prospect so intriguing. Pure edge rush player, who plays with great speed and is able to get into the backfield in a hurry to finish the play. He does have some experience playing more of a standup end/LB, and that will greatly benefit him in the NFL. Very good tackler and is able to bring down running backs as easy as he does quarterbacks.

NEGATIVES

Moss is pretty undersized to play DE and will certainly end up a rush OLB for a 3-4 team. He does have some experience rushing from a stand up position, but there's nothing to say that Moss will be able to drop into coverage, which every 3-4 OLB will have to do. Moss doesn't have a ton of starting experience, and needs to develop further as a player, but the potential is certainly there. A project player, no doubt.

FINAL WORD

Moss put his name out there with an impressive BCS title game, and that pushed him to declare early. Moss is definitely a tremendous athlete, and there's no doubt he can get after the quarterback. He'll probably go in the first based on measurables and potential alone, and if a team can give him a little time, he could turn out to be a very special player. If he's rushed in, or can't pick up the rest of what it takes to play OLB, he may struggle or simply be a situational type player.
