From a physical standpoint, Adams has everything you look for in an NFL rush end. Long, muscular frame, long arms, and strong lower body. He's shown a great first step, and an ability to explode off the edge. Great versatility, playing the Bandit end, where he's both rush end, and linebacker. Big and strong enough to stay stout in run support, but his knack for getting into the backfield, is what makes him such a coveted player.
NEGATIVES
Doesn't have the ideal bulk to be an every down defensive end, and will have to show if he's got the speed to play an OLB at 265 lbs. Does get overpowered at times, and needs to work on playing the run with better leverage. Will benefit greatly from another year in school, although many thought he should have declared last year, he needs another year in college.
FINAL WORD
he top defensive end/rush linebacker, in this upcoming draft. How he plays this season, will show a lot as to whether he's more DeMarcus Ware, or Osi Yumenyora. For me, I put him as a rush OLB, ala Shawne Merriman, and let him operate in space, where he can do the most damage. How much time he spends at linebacker this year, will dictate much of how he's viewed at the next level. I think he could be a traditional 4-3 rush end, but he seems to be more versatile than that, and with so much potential, would be limiting him.
