POSITIVES

Ross is an amazingly gifted athlete with ideal size and has very natural coverage skills. He has all the measurables; long arms, soft hands and elite leaping ability. Very natural coverage player with great turn and run skills. Ross has impressive recovery speed and superb vision for the football in the air. Ross is pretty good run support player and is a hard hitter, as well as a very sound tackler.

NEGATIVES

Ross has had to bide his time as a backup the last 2 years, and really only has one big season as a starter. Like so many young corners, Ross has a tendency to let his technique slide in hopes of making the highlight reel shot, and it causes him to miss plays. He's got to get better with the technical parts of coverage, especially in man coverage, where he gets his feet caught up at times and doesn't use his hands well.

FINAL WORD

One of the most interesting prospects in this draft. Ross is as good an athlete as there is in this draft at cornerback, but he's not going to give teams that sub 4.4 40 time, although he does have ideal size. Ross’ overall athleticism and playmaking abilities have pushed him up draft boards all year long, and at this point, if he doesn't tank his 40 time, he's almost assured a first round pick on potential and game-breaking ability alone.
